“As born and brought up in North of Lapland, northern identity is fixedly present in my art works. I blend in my images the strong emotional responses from my childhood, nature as well as popular and indigenous culture. Personal experiences still represent something unspoken. On a symbolic level something individual is being transformed into something general and something site specific into something global. Outwardly easily approachable image offers a chance to receive the emotion created by painting or allows the viewer to form his/her own readable story.”
